India has over 7.5 million restaurants, and the vast majority are small, family-run businesses. Dhabas, tiffin centres, local biryani joints, chai stalls -- these are the backbone of India's food culture. Yet most of them still rely on handwritten orders, paper bills, and manual calculations.

Traditional POS machines cost anywhere between Rs 30,000 to Rs 80,000 per year in rental and maintenance fees. That's a massive expense for a restaurant making Rs 10,000-20,000 a day. Most owners simply can't justify it, so they continue with pen-and-paper systems that lead to order mistakes, billing errors, and no visibility into their daily performance.

We started OrderKaro to solve this problem. Instead of an expensive POS machine, all you need is a smartphone and an optional Rs 2,500 Bluetooth thermal printer. Customers scan a QR code at the table, place their order, and the kitchen gets it in real-time. Bills are generated automatically with proper GST calculations. UPI payments can be collected with exact-amount QR codes.

Our goal is simple: make restaurant technology as affordable and accessible as a UPI payment. No contracts, no hidden fees, no complex setup. Just scan, order, and grow.
