The Railway Parallel Road Problem
If you drive from **Thindlu** towards **Phoenix Mall of Asia** via Railway Parallel Road in the evenings, you will notice something: between the Thindlu circle and the Bellary Main Road turn-off to the mall, there are very few dedicated, authentic dinner restaurants. Most of what you pass is residential or commercial office frontage — not a stretch known for evening eats.
We have been on Google Maps for a while. And yet, most drivers on this route don't stop. If you have driven this way, you have probably passed us without realising.
Where Exactly We Are
**Shastrys Cafe** — **No.880, NTI Layout, 2nd Phase, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Kodigehalli, Bangalore – 560097** — sits on the NTI Layout side of Kodigehalli, just off Railway Parallel Road. A quick turn-in, and you are at the cafe in under a minute.
From Thindlu circle:: 1.2 km (south along Railway Parallel Road, left into NTI Layout)
From Phoenix Mall of Asia (Hebbal):: 4 km (north on Bellary Road → Railway Parallel Road)
From Canara Bank Layout:: 600 m
From Sahakaranagar:: 2 km
What to Order in the Evening
Our evening menu (5:00 PM – 8:30 PM) is designed for people heading home, families stopping for a quick thali, and anyone who wants a real South Indian dinner without the heaviness of a restaurant meal:
Masala Dosa: (₹70) — freshly made, crisp, potato masala cooked the Brahmin way
Set Dosa: (₹60) — three soft spongy dosas, a perfect evening tiffin

All tiffin items come with **fresh coconut chutney only — no sambar**, following the authentic Brahmin tradition. Our lunch thali (available at lunch hours) does include sambar, rasam, palya, curd rice, pickle, papad and buttermilk — the proper Brahmin meal.
Why Evening Traffic Misses Us
Three honest reasons we've heard from regulars:
1. **Signage is modest.** We are a neighbourhood cafe, not a highway restaurant. The turn-in to NTI Layout is easy to overshoot.
2. **Parking perception.** There is roadside parking in NTI Layout, but it is not a parking lot, which intimidates some drivers. Locals know it is fine.
3. **Google Maps works.** But people often decide where to eat *before* they drive, not while they drive.
This is exactly the problem we are trying to solve — by making sure you know we are here.
A Clean Evening Plan for Railway Parallel Road Drivers
• Leaving Thindlu at 6:30 PM? Pull into Shastrys, eat a set dosa and filter coffee, be home by 7:30 PM.
• Heading to Mall of Asia? Eat dinner at Shastrys first (calmer, cheaper, more authentic), then shop on a light stomach.
• Returning from the mall at 8:00 PM? We are open until 8:30 PM — a perfect light dinner before you get home.
